“Karelskiy Kamen” (Karelian Stone) is an annual specialised international fair-trade held in Petrozavodsk, Republic of Karelia, Russia.

 The mining industry is one of the most promising and intensively developing economy sectors of the Republic of Karelia. Karelia disposes many minerals: ironstones are being developed as well as porphyrites and shungites; local enterprises are mining nonmetallic construction materials combined with turf.

 The aim of the fair-trade is to promote the development of the stone mining and milling industries through the demonstration of modern technologies and innovation research.

 Materials, equipment, machinery and services of the enterprises occupied in the mentioned indutries are the exhibition of the fair-trade.

 Fair-trade visitors are offered the chance to familiarise themselves with the new equipment for both search and prospecting of deposits; diamond and abrasive instruments for grinding and polishing as well as processing and crushing-and-screening equipment for natural stone mining and processing.

 “Karelskiy Kamen” is the platform for the both regional and international partnership expansion and reinforcement.

 Seminars, round-table discussions and master classes are conventionally organised in the context of the event.

 There are more than 50 enterprises from the Republic of Karelia, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Volodga, Vyborg, the Moscow and Leningrad Oblasts, Nizhniy Novgorod, Finland, Italy, Germany, the US and Japan that participate in the fair-trade.

 The organisers of the event are the Ministry of Natural Management and Ecology in the Republic of Karelia, The Government Committee of Transport in the Republic of Karelia and Fair-trade agency Euroforum.
